Wow, way ta cover local news, Merc!

no nuthin

Here’s the entire text they published on they website, two days after a big local protest :

San Jose protesters stay peaceful during Boxer book signing

Sen. Barbara Boxer was greeted by about 120 protesters outside Barnes & Noble Booksellers, 3600 Stevens Creek Blvd., San Jose on Aug.15 where she made brief appearance to sign her second novel Blind Trust.

Boxer was accompanied by her San Francisco Office assistants and security personnel. The group remained relatively peaceful in its protest of healthcare reform.

About 100 people showed up at the bookstore for the brief reading and question-and-answer session.

Then again, that’s more than any other local media outlet did – including NBC, which apparently had  a camera there.

It would have been nice if they’d got the number right, at least.  I was there at the moment that Boxer dashed into the back entrance.  (I barely had enough time for a short  Boo!)  There had to have been more than 120 people there.

For that matter, what’s with this “protesters stay peaceful” crap?  They were expecting … what?
